Henry letter dicusses fixing Markham House and the Markham House Exceutive Committee Association asking for Payment. Jasper J. Mulholland is the carpenter. Henry Heynmann has gone to War in the Aviation Corp. He has asked Prof. B.W. Spaulding to act in Heynemann's place. Mr. A.L. Solon is taking Dr. Stidger place since he is in France. Everyone is working to Fix the house. Markham forgot to send an autogrph for Miss Payne. Markham is loaning money for the expsence of Markham House. The book came for Mrs. Daley. He dicusses a contract that is closed. and they will not have to uncorporate. The First National Bank is holding all papers in escrow.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901). He became a well-known reader of his own poems and lecturer of idealistic views, but his creative output for remainder of life ...
